Previews · an early build
Rate what you watch in two taps. Have a Gander learns what you love, tells you what you’ll make of a film before you press play, and turns “what shall we watch?” into a game everyone plays on their own phone.
The Android test is open now: write to us and we send you the preview. Google Play and an iPhone version come later.
How it works
Every score you give teaches it a little more about your taste. Four things it does with that.
Give a film or series your gut score and save. Want more? Break it down, from the story to the sound, rate each season of a series, and the people who stood out.
In the appAfter a few ratings it predicts what you’ll make of any title, in your own scale, and tells you why: the films you rated that pulled the number up or down.
In the appDiscover deals you a deck picked for you. Swipe right to save it to your watchlist, left to pass. New here? A Seen it? deck gets you going from the first minute.
In the appAdd friends with an invite link. See how your tastes line up, which of their favourites you haven’t seen yet, and send a title with a short note.
In the appBreak it down
Most nights a gut score says it all. When a film deserves more, go one level down: seven categories, thirty details, and the cast and crew who stood out.
Every score is calibrated to how you rate, so a 7 from a tough critic and a 7 from a generous one mean what they should.
The main feature
Can’t agree on what to watch? Start a movie night and share the code. Everyone swipes the same shortlist on their own phone, and every card shows their own predicted score.
Where it is
Have a Gander is an early build. An honest programme: what’s in the app today, what’s coming soon, and what’s still in production.
Your data
Have a Gander keeps what it needs to know your taste: your account, your ratings, your watchlist and the friends you invite. Your friends see your ratings; nobody else does. No ads, no analytics, and your data is never sold.
